DIARY GAME: 30th March, 2022

Good evening steem women, hope you had a good day, mine was great.

Woke up this morning a little later than I used to as I slept late the previous night, had a chit to chat with my colleagues till late at night. It was an interesting night filled with laughter. When I woke up this morning I said my morning prayers, and got ready for work.

This week I was posted to the theater, today we had C/S (caesarian section). It was performed on a woman who had a previous C/S.

When I got to work, I helped prepare for the C/S while waiting for the surgeon.

Caesarian section is a method of child birth, mostly used when vagina delivery is not favorable for the woman.
Some women have myths about it which has lead them to their early death/ child birth complications.

Indications of C/S include:

• Fetal malpresentation/positioning(wrong presentation of baby).
• Inadequate pelvis.
• Prolonged labour.
• Multiple gestation (twins/triplets etc)
• Maternal medical conditions (in some medical issues, labour might pose a serious threat to life of mother) etc.

In these cases C/S is recommended to avert any complication that might result sequel to them
C/S is not bad, infact some women choose it over vagina delivery in order to avoid the pains that comes with vagina delivery. Technology has improved which has drastically reduced complications as a result of caesarian section.

The surgery started about 30minutes later when the doctor arrived. A male baby was extracted within 4 minutes. Nurses from maternity ward came to receive the baby, clean him up and take to the post natal ward. Before a baby is taken away from the mother, it is always shown to the mother to confirm the sex of the baby, this is to avoid issues with women that will claim they gave birth to another sex.

The surgery lasted for 1 hour 30 minutes. It was a successful surgery with both mother and baby alive and healthy.
After the surgery the ward maids cleaned up the theater. We stayed till 2pm before closing for the day.
I went back to the lodge hungry, rested for sometime before getting something to eat.

The rest of the day was uneventful, rested, took my bath and retired for the day.
