Ogbono soup originated from the south-eastern part of Nigeria where the igbos comes from.
It is mostly cooked in Edo state in Nigeria.
Ogbono botanical name is called irvingia gabonensis, it is also known as the wild African mango. The seed from the wild African mango is used to make the ogbono soup, it is also known for its thick viscosity as it dress out of the bowl when eaten.
It is cooked with assorted meats or fish, smoked fish, pomo and healthy leaves like ugwu or bitter leaves but am going to use ugwu leaves today.
