Once upon a time, there was a young man who worked in a factory . In the factory there was an old technician who was the mentor of the young man. The old technician always advised him to talk less and do more, that he should always work hard no matter what.

Some years later the old man retired and the yong man became a technician himself and did exactly what the old technician taught him. He talked less , did more and was a master in his field of technician.
One day, the young technician decided to visit his mentor the old technician. He went to the old man with a very sad face. The old technician asked "why are you sad. What is bothering you", then the young technician replied

"since you left I had followed all your instructions . I always work hard and have never complained . I'm always focused on my work. I know I have done a very great work at the factory but what I don't understand is that, the workers who don't have any experience or capabilities compared to mine have all been promoted but I'm still earning this same little salary I used to during my time as your assistant". The old man heard and nodded ,
there's nothing to be worried about, "you should request for a day off may be two or three days."" The young man didn't understand the old technician advice but did exactly what he said. He took three days off. When he returned to work after his days off, the manager quickly called him to his office and said, "your absence caused as much . Things didn't go well and many problems are still unsolved , this wouldn't have happened if you were here". The manager then added, "I'm very happy you are back"" and granted the man promotion. He was promoted to senior technician and encourage him to keep up the good work.

The young man went and thank the old technician for his wise advice and said to himself, "surely this is the secret of success". As time goes on when ever the yong man was unsatisfied with his treatment or earnings he would take some days off and his demands will be meant. This happen and happened till one day, his contract was terminated. He started wondering. Not knowing what to do he went back to the old technician and said "How can I lose my job, didn't I do all u instructed, his mentor replied "no you didn't. You only heard half of the lessons". The young technician started wondering, what can the other half be . The old man continued , "you understood that no one pays attention to a light bulbs which is always on. It is only when it goes off that people start to realize and see it's value but you were so eager and left before hearing the second half of the lesson". The mentor added "the second half is more important than the first .it's the realization that , if a light bulb 💡 goes off frequently, then sooner or later it will replaced with a more reliable bulb. Who will want a light bulb 💡 which goes off frequently and can't be relied on". The yong technician looked at his mentor and tears started dropping from his eyes.

This teaches us that in life , we shouldn't take people or things for granted , we shouldn't wait till we lose someone or something and now realized how important they are. We should always give our thanks and gratitude. We should also keep doing good things we've been doing and not stop when we are unsatisfied so things can go your way, but rather keep trying and work hard or else our bulbs 💡 will be replaced with a more reliable ones.
