Hello everyone, are you a parent, are you planning to be a parent soon or do you know that one day, you will or might be a parent? if your answer to any of these questions is "YES, I AM!", then please read this post to the end because maybe at the end of reading, you might get to know something which might improve the relationship between you and your family.

This post is basically about the kind of relationships and behaviour parents have towards their children and how it affects them emotionally, socially and psychologically.

There are a lot of things children needs and expects from their parents which you the parent should not deny them of those things because what they need from you the parent are what will help shape and build the lives of these kids for a better and bright future.

ATTENTION

This factor is something that most children of today finds it difficult to get from their parents.
Parents finds it very hard to find time and spend quality moments with their children all in the name of been busy at with work, chores and all other things that a parent shouldn't have put first before his or her children. Some even go to the extent that they will always be engaged with their with their phones that they even forgets that they have children who needs that attention far more than that phone.

Today you as a parent have not forgotten to visit your steemit account or even create a blog for your steemit accuont but have you remembered to pray with your children today (if you are religious), have you remembered to ask your children how their nights were, how they are feeling, how school was?, have you been able to spend 30 minutes with your children fixing puzzles or just having fun?. Am not saying that you should stop steeming but you should not put steemit first before your children.

If you continue to deny your children of the attention they need, they may end up been afraid of you the parent which will make them not to be able to talk to about matters they should have brought to your attention to help them solve, it may also lead them not to be able to mingle with people and always be by their selves and can also lead them to indulge in bad acts since you do not have time to monitor them.

There is a short video that I watched about a teacher and her pupils, and this is how it went;
A teacher once gave her pupils assignment that they should write about what they wish to be when they grow up and submit it the next day.

Everyone went home and wrote about what they wish to be and the next day they all submitted their assignments, the teacher was going through them and was seeing interesting write-up were some wrote about how they want to be doctors when they grow up so that they will threat diseases, others wanted to be scientist and discover new things and a whole lot of different wishes but one pupil's write-up caught her attention most and it reads;

If there is anything I will want to be when I grow, I want to be a phone.

My mom always have time for her phone but will never find time for me.

My mom will check on her phone first if am crying and her phone is ringing at the same time.

My mom do not come to tell me good night or check on me before I go to bed and she does not come to check on me when I have not come out of my room even when am getting late for school but her phone is the last thing she checks on before going to bed and the first thing she checks on immediately after getting up from bed.

So I wish to be a phone when I grow up.

After reading the assignment, she quickly flipped the next page to see the name of the pupil who wrote it and to her surprise, the pupil who wrote that assignment was her son. It was from then she started giving her son the maximum attention she could give him.

UTTERANCE

How do you speak to your children? do you talk to them in a hash and rude tone? or you talk to them in a polite and well mannered tone?

The kind of words that comes out from your mouth to your children especially when you are angry can have a long term negative effect on them.
A lot of parents most especially African parents starts cursing and calling their children all kinds of names when the children wrongs them.

The continuous shouting by you the parent to the child can make him or her to not want to be close to you not even for a minute.

This can also make him or her to always famble when you or someone shout even if that shout is not on him or her which may even lead to him not wanting to be around people because of not liking noise and shouts.

This may even lead to that child developing heart attack when he or she was not of the state of having such sickness.

Try as much as you can as a parent to always be mindful of the kind of words and tone of speech we utter to our children. Try to speak to them in an adult manner, always try to tell them and let them know that you love and care for them and always bless them.

Speaking of blessing, it has a great impact on their lives even though we may not know its effects on these young ones but it do have a positive effect.

SURPRISES

As everyone knows that kids or children loves surprises, especially on special days like their birthdays, parents should always do their best to surprise these kids with gifts and presents. We all know how a kid will feel if they have not asked you for something or was not expecting something from you and suddenly you said "hey Junior, this is for you."
Parents shouldn't only wait for special occasions to surprise their kids, cause everyday is special depending on how you makes it.
