The diarygame/experiencing charcoal burning during third trimester field practical program/by @simba-sammy/21-10-21

Hello fellow steemians, I hope you are all doing great. Again I am bringing to you one of the experiences of my third trimester field practical program.
As a part of this program, we are supposed to learn about the local industries of the community and how everything is done. My community happens to be a place where charcoal burning is one of the industrial process and I will be glad to take you through the process.
Raw materials needed include dry logs, fresh leaves, sand
For the process;
1.the dry logs are arranged in a dugout of about one feet deep

1. Fresh leaves are then put on the logs to cover all parts of the logs
2. The logs together with the fresh leaves are then covered with sand leaving a place where fire can be put in.
   After fire is set up in the pit, it is fully covered and the whole process is left for about three to four days meanwhile a regular check-up is advised.
   After the said number of days, the sand is dugout and the fire in the pit extinguished. The charcoal is then allowed to get cold and then packed in sacks
   
   The main scientific method involved in the whole process is combustion
   Marketing of the product is either done at the house or at the site of production.
   Uses of the charcoal by the indigens is as a source of fuel for cooking and others use it to clean their teeth.
   

Some of the problems associated with this industry is air pollution from the excessive smoke and also health hazards to industrialists such as burns.
This is the first industrial activity and I will be bringing more from the Ponkor No 1 community in the Jaman North district.
