Potential Solutions To Our Pressing Challenges In Ghana - Indiscriminate Littering

Hello everyone,

It has been quite a while since significant efforts were put in place to help facilitate the cleanliness of our country. This is something that we must hold dear as it is the first impression that any foreign gets about the general attitude of people in the country.

Currently, I am not very impressed by the standards we have set for ourselves in the world of cleanliness, not at all. Especially in the various suburbs where most of the country resides. It is almost as if people do not really give much care regarding the pollutants they are releasing into their surroundings that have detrimental effects on the land.

It is certainly past time that this had to change. We must swerve from our old ways and start building new grounds for a greener Ghana.

Zoomlion was seen as a solution in the past. And although it has proven to be quite a helpful company using lots of efforts to remove waste from our streets, it is not the final solution.

Individuals must also understand the risks of littering and the impact it has on our life, our crops, development, and so on. Even with this knowledge, you will find many well educated people doing so.

I think after trying all this and reaching no positive impact, we must simply create new laws regarding the act of indiscriminate littering and making every effort to enforce it by punishing offenders. The culprits must either be fined or sent to jail for sometime in order to learn their lesson.

This is possibly the best way of tackling this since all other efforts have failed. If people understand the penalty for polluting the polluting the environment, they will also be conscious of this and would be extra careful.

It is indeed.
