Health! There are basically five aspects of personal health; emotional, physical, spiritual, intellectual, and social. In order for an individual to be considered 'fit and well, it is imperative and important for none of these areas to be neglected.
It is with this notion that I take it upon myself to serve this community with physical health lessons and conditions that tend to affect our daily physical activities. It's my pleasure to be your friendly neighborhood physical therapist.
A physical therapist is a healthcare professional who is focused on preventing or managing movement dysfunction, and enhancing an individual's physical capacity. We treat a wide range of conditions affecting different body systems: cardiovascular, genitounitary, respiratory, gastroesophageal, and integumentary systems. These conditions include stroke, osteoarthritis, cerebral palsy, and pelvic floor dysfunction. Physical therapists assess and diagnose physical deficits caused by the existence of pathology in body systems.
The treatment protocol includes reducing pain, maintaining and improving joint range of motion(ROM), maintaining and improving muscle strength, improving exercise tolerance, and improving function. This aims at improving our patient's or clients' quality of life.
