HOW I WILL ADOPT STEEM AS A LEGAL TENDER IF I WERE THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA.

It's always a great opportunity to share my thoughts. Thanks to @njaywan for this contest. The Ghanaian Times newspaper April 2022 published an article on the emergence of cryptocurrencies in the country. Little attention was given to this since there wasn't much information on what these cryptocurrencies are, their significance, and how they can be adopted.

The Bank of Ghana which is responsible for coming up with the regulations for the adoption of these currencies has been quite reluctant to take decisions. As with all technology waves the early bird catches the worm. If I were the president of this great nation, I will be very much hopeful that blockchain technologies do not suffer the same fate as the internet where we went from over 100 local Internet Service Providers in the 1990s to a handful of multinational companies providing Internet Services.

Decision-making in this country isn't a one-man thing. First of all, I will collaborate with the Bank of Ghana; that's the Board of Directors, and various economists in the country to get their views on how significant steem which is a cryptocurrency will benefit the country. But before this, I will organize a seminar that will be geared towards educating them on cryptocurrencies; steem to be precise. A week or two will be great to get them to understand the benefits of this cryptocurrency.

Considerations will be placed on how feasible and implementable this cryptocurrency can be. Systematic approaches will be instituted to get all the details necessary for all these people to get the concept. A country like Tonga has taken the right approach to adopt cryptocurrencies as a legal tender. As a president, I will bring the officials and executives in this country who made it possible to adopt these currencies on board. Their technical know-how and ideas will be very beneficial as I will like to do the same here.

Ghana could do the same. In Tonga, stressing the digital currency helped them to restore the country's economy as it was devastated by a volcano. To make this possible, I will also work hand in hand with the private sector establishments in the race to become more digital by pointing out the essence of this approach. Going digital is the new normal for doing business and engaging with customers. This will improve customer care and business outcomes.

Moreover, I will establish partnerships with non-profit organizations to drive this digital solution in adopting steem as a legal tender. To be able to adopt this fully, a pilot study will be done to identify any setbacks that might come up when it's passed into usage. Outcomes will be taken into consideration before a final decision is made.

Before the adoption of steem as a legal tender, it will be prudent to schedule meetings with community leaders, religious leaders, and traditional leaders. This meeting will be aimed at educating them on the existence of steem which is a cryptocurrency, the importance of its adoption to the economy of the country, ways to sustain it, and how beneficial it could be to the development of their communities. These leaders tend to have a lot of influence on the citizens. Having this knowledge will help them in the dissemination of information on the adoption of steem as a legal tender.

Mass education is very key. The concept of steem adoption will be well explained to the populace through the use of our media stations. Television stations, social media, and radio will help in carrying out this concept. Social media is a very powerful network. The advantages of adopting steem will be made well known for everyone to understand. People in rural areas listen to the radio a lot. I will make sure the presenters are well motivated to be able to make it very easy for them to understand.

The usage of steem as a legal tender will help in improving the transaction rates. It will come at a considerate cost and will be very reliable. Our economy will be in safe hands when the necessary decisions are made, the concept of adopting steem is well understood and it's adopted as a legal tender. As a president, the well-being of citizens and the country is my priority. It will be great for steem to be adopted as a legal tender in Ghana.

The value of steem is currently around the value of 0.49$. This is really valuable as compared to the cedi which is around 0.12$. It is forecasted that steem will be likely to reach the 1$ mark. No doubt this is going to boost the economy. Citizens will be also able to earn more when they join the steemit ecosystem. This platform allows users to share their thoughts and views which are later rewarded. The price of steem will also be stable as transactions are made; that's the powering up of steem. With a lot of people on board, the stability of steem will be assured.

The steemit ecosystem will also serve as a source of employment for my people. Knowledge acquisition and usage will be assured. Not only will the money be made but a lot of people will be educated.

The future is certainly bright with steem.
