The Ugly Century!

THE UGLY CENTUARY (1).png

Years have accumulated into decades. Decades then gave us centuries. Every century has its own story. This is what happen in the 17th century when the world was not as clear as today.
in the 17th century, a day of darkness came. It was a surprise no one could explain. Mothers run to their rooms and fathers were guiding their houses. It was scary that no one could understand what exactly was happening. On this day, two kids were born at different ends of the world.

Mahama is a young brilliant man. A man everyone in his part of the world heard of. He was so popular that even children used his name for playing songs. Not only did his brilliancy make him popular but he was one of the kids that were born on the day of darkness. I can’t say it affected him but his facial beauty was affected and many said his face was the direct opposite of his smartness. In the short he was ugly.

Mahama made history. In his land, he did great in solving and bringing new initiatives to their part of the world. His physics skills make him the greatest at that time. I didn’t know when Albert Einstein came, but I will say Mahama was the Einstein of that time.

He wasn’t the only kid born on this day. They were two. They heard of another guy on the other side of the world. He was great. He didn’t stay in one place. He moved from place to place and made his mark before he left. He was diverse. Talented and could mimic everyone he meets. He could play football and was a happy man to be with. It was Abdul.

Abdul heard the great news about the physics god. He was pleased he wasn’t the only one. He wished he could one day make a journey to where he was to meet him. Abdul had a great friend who always stood by him. The day affected them both. So, Abdul was also not that appreciable but wasn’t as like Mahama. Abdul Razak was Abdul’s friend. He never left his side. They traveled and made many histories together. Abdul Razak always said, “If Mahama’s ugliness is more than yours, I’m afraid you could never defeat him in a test.” Abdul smile and says, “what is in the brain doesn’t tally with how he looks. If so, he would have been the dumbest person to have ever lived.” Abdul Razak and Abdul both laughed and continue with their normal activity. All the same, Abdul was ugly too.

Abdul Razak in the story

Abdul was at the north. His current location wasn’t known for quite a while. Mahama was in the southern part of the world. Abdul traveled a lot and was just a mile away entering the southern part of the world. It was dawn when Abdul Razak called out to Abdul to come and see. Abdul rushed and the kids were struggling with how to find an angle in a triangle. Abdul smiled and took them through the Pythagoras theorem.

Kids’ mouths are like the wind. That was their first day in the town. The wind blew Abdul’s name through the town. Everyone heard of the name and started wondering if that was the guy the other part of the world knew? Mahama heard the name, was eager to meet this guy they have always bothered him with. Mahama was on the search. As he was looking for Abdul. Abdul, on the other hand, was enjoying the town with his smile as he does what he enjoys doing.

Abdul Razak with Abdul stayed at the river banks. Mahama was also on run looking for Abdul. Every day was a brand-new day for Abdul to do what he enjoys doing. On a certain day, Abdul was at the banks with kids, he was sharing with them his tales as stories. They enjoyed it. It was then Mahama was passing by and noticed the crowd. Abdul Razak was closer. When he saw Mahama he met the description. He rushed to Abdul and said, “I think we are in the town of that ugly man. I just saw someone so ugly that I have never seen.” Abdul didn’t mind but was on the lookout to see who that guy was.

Abdul Razak and Mahama in the story

Abdul continued with what he was doing with the kids. It was about limit in normal calculus. As Abdul tried explaining why the limit as x approaches zero of sinx over x is always 1. Mahama came in asking silly questions. Abdul Razak answered, “Using the L’hopital rule we know, we differentiate sinx to get cosx and the differential of x is 1. Then subtitling we then have 1.” Mahama angrily asked, “And who is this one too?” “Do you think any brilliant man is supposed to be ugly as you?” Abdul Razak replied. Even the kids laughed at that.

Abdul in the story

Abdul came into their conversation. They had a great time getting to know one another. Abdul Razak was like a mediator between Abdul and the people. Abdul’s thought was not quite understandable. So, Abdul Razak was the one who understood and made people know what was happening.
Abdul, Mahama, and Abdul Razak became a unit. Abdul with mathematics, Mahama with Physics, and Abdul Razak with the mind to understand them both made history. They made great things happen in this age. The two ugly people finally met and they are making history.

That was how this century came about its name. The ugly Century with knowledge.
