MY ENTRY: ‘’ TELL US ABOUT A FAMOUS PLACE YOU HAVE VISITED BEFORE”

Hello friends, I guess everyone is doing well? I am very happy for contest, it brings about foreign exchange and increase in tourist activities.
My entry into this contest is about one of the famous dams in the country which I have visited before, more than three times.

The Tono dam is found in Navrongo, in a community known as Tono. It is the largest man made irrigation dam in the country. There are several crops that are cultivated using water from the dam, some of these crops include, rice, maize, vegetables like pepper, garden eggs, green paper, fresh tomatoes and several others.
The dam also provides green pastures for animals to graze on.

It has several canals through where water from the dam is distributed around the farms. It supplies about 3,000 hectres of land. Fishermen also go there to cast their nets for fishes.

The dam has a speedway through which water from the dam spills out to the surrounding rivers and smaller dams, to also be used for farming which also serves as source of drinking water for animals around, and also used for small scale.

People who are involved in the farming of these crops and the fish hunting benefit a lot, in terms of income and food for homes.
