The Diary Game: 23/03/2021 - Free Eye Examination on World Optometry Day

Dear Diary,

Giving out free spectacles

The day marked world optometry day celebration all across the globe. It is a day that we focus on the optometric profession its advocacy and promote ocular awareness all around. Today most health facility and eyecare specialist organized free eye screenings for people to help create awareness on eyecare and ocular health.

Arriving at our destination

And so today as part of our outreach program for the week we went to a remote village called Wassa Nkran within the Tarkwa municipality. From where we are lodging to the place about an hour and 30 minutes drive to get us and there and so we were up quite early knowing the journey ahead so we could reach a bit earlier.

Setting up the place

---

We got there just before 9am, went ahead to setup, make an announcement for the community to know we are doing this kind of exercise for this purpose and that fact that they do not have to pay anything. Initially most of the people had left for their farms and so the number wasn't coming in but soon they started to come.

Patient care

---

We closed around 3pm in the evening, got back to the lodging around 5 and went out to get some fufu at a nearby eatery after which we proceeded back to the hotel to get some rest. I dozed off only to wake up late in the night which i decided was a good time for my diary game. It was great day and great deal of service rendered. Stay safe and stay healthy, thanks for your time.
