The Diary Game: 21/03/2021 - Methodist Singing Band Diocesan Conference and Competition
Dear Diary,
On Saturday i attended this year's diocesan singing band conference which was hosted by Kwadaso Circuit at Kwadaso. The program actually started on the Friday and was slated to end on Sunday however this singing competition was to be done on Saturday and that was the reason why i went because i had to play for my circuit whiles they sing.
And so i left in the morning and went to join in the activities for the day, the singing itself was to be done in the evening but there were other activities to be done during the day and so i joined in. First we had a music workshop where the diocesan directors of music gave us some basic knowledge and understanding as to music reading and interpretation then we had song learning session where we were taught some new hilifes and an edited version of the liturgy responses.
We then broke for lunch and came back after an hour somewhere 1-2pm to listen to the reports from diocese and circuit leaders. After that was the singing competition itself. Initially my group was to sing 2nd however they claim we came in a bit late after we were asked to changed and so we were moved behind, the program was fun and exciting and once my group was done with theirs i just left for campus. I got here late around 8:30pm to 9 and i was so exhausted i just bathed and slept.
I was a bass lead singer. Good music is good for the soul.
