Cultural Importance Of Using Our Right Hand In All Our Dealings

Hi lovely people,

It is very important for us to recognize the importance observing some of the cultural norms in our ghanaian societies. The reason is because, they were established for very important reasons.

Some of the reasons are quite easy to guess even if you have not even read about our african traditions.

In all parts of the world, the right hand is used to symbolize something which is either positive or good while the left hand means that the thing is negative or of little value.

We therefore treat dirty things such as garbage, refuse or waste with our left hand and do other things such as greeting, eating, waving, with our right hand.

As we grow up in our societies with time, these things become a part of ourselves and failure to do so means disrespect to the other party, regardless of your intentions.

Some people were born with the left hand as their dominant hand. So naturally, you don't expect them to find comfort in utilizing their right hand over the left. But here is the case whereby our norms speak otherwise.

In my opinion, it is our way of life, so let us try to live by it. Most elderly people feel offended if we don't address them properly and may not ask for explanations before jumping to conclusions.

I know that in some of our homes, we have understanding parents who wouldn't mind at all, but for the sake of our traditions and norms, I think we would survive this act of courtesy.

A big thank you for coming around.

Our culture need to be protected. Ghana for instance has good culture, it serves as the means to propagate vital information to the young ones. Without it , many of the things may not be known to us. Our parents or elderly people need to be treated with the maximum respect. I love culture, I like reading stuff like this. Dear friend, keep sharing with us. I am grateful for my visit

I am grateful for your appreciation sir. It gives me joy to produce content like this too 🤗

Indeed, ghana is rich in terms of our culture. Makes us remember past experiences which tends to shape our lives for the present.

Our culture is our heritage!!

Left hand or no left hand, we must focus on building our nations, our economies, etc.
I don't think it's really important which hand you use. We as Africans, especially Ghanaians focus more on these things than things that will help us grow. I don't think the whites do that but they are always thriving. It's not really about using the right or left, it's about knowing our way forward.
I just want to know how using your right or left hand to address an elderly will help us bloom as an economy..

Well that is true....😅
