My Top Two Free Coding Resource
Hello to all Steemians. I am glad that everyone is doing well. Today, I will be sharing with you some of the best free online resources for learning how to code. I have to been studying computer programming for a while, and it has been a fun experience. There are lots of resources online that help interested persons in leveling up their computer programming skill-set, but most of the best platforms require a premium membership, which requires monetary settlement for their content. On the bright side, not all great things are expensive. Hence, there are also excellent and free coding websites in existence- some of which have been instrumental to my development as a programmer. So in today’s article, I will be sharing, in my opinion, the two top free coding resources that can be essential to the success of beginners and intermediates alike.
First on my list is freeCodeCamp.org As its name suggests, it is a free coding website that trains individuals with a proven path of tutorials for real software development roles. This platform has a broad and interactive curriculum and lessons respectively. The curriculum includes 300 hours of Responsive Web Design lessons, 300 hours of JavaScript Algorithm and Data Structures, Data Visualization, APIs and Microservices, Scientific Computing with Python, and many others. Also, freeCodeCamp offers free verified certification upon completion of each curriculum. Each curriculum comes with many exercises and coding projects to help learners better fathom the concepts being taught.
One feature I also love about this resource is that it has an active and useful forum for learners who get stuck on seemly difficult exercises and projects. freeCodeCamp also offers comprehensive full video tutorials on various Computer Science related tools on YouTube. So I highly recommend this platform for anyone looking for an exciting entry into the computer programming world.
W3schools.com is one of the oldest free online resources for learning to code. It presents lessons on a broad spectrum of programming languages including Python, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, C#, Kotlin, JavaScript, HTML, and many others.
Each lesson comes with exercises to help learners apply what they have learned. W3schools does offer certification but for a small fee. Lessons on W3schools are very easy to digest and are a great resource for programmers of all levels of experience. The curriculum is neatly categorized and does not feel overwhelming. The website has a clean user interface and great user experience for a free resourced platform.
Computer programming is an exciting field and does not require a Computer Science degree to be great at it. Having a degree is a plus, but one’s coding skills can be developed with consistent and high-quality practices. Feel free to jump onto any of the two and start learning how to code.
