Illegal mining is when the land is gradual destroyed by human means and activities .Illegal mining is defined as uncontrolled mining in the context of Ghana where unlicensed miners do not have their own mining concessions, within concessions of large mining companies in areas where mining is prohibited. Illegal mining activities carried out without government authorization,especially without land title, mining licenses, exploration or mineral.
1.Population growth: One the main causes of illegal mining is rapid population growth. The increase in the countries population of the country per the country resources is the main reason for this mining activities.There is a very fast increase in the population of Ghana and the due to economic crisis of the country.
2.Increasing demand for resources:
One the main reason for this mining activities is the demand for resources of the country which is not available. People demand for certain things and makes it difficult and this bring a lot of problems such as illegal mining.
3.Advancements in technology: This is a great problem which causes illegal mining activities. Due to advanced technology, people start to mine with those new technologies. But if I’m the case , there was no technology to do those hard work. Like people will not been able to do those hard work. But the introduction of these modern technologies have made everything simple and people turn to use them to degrade the land.
4.Single source of income: This is also a problem facing the country. There are no jobs for people in the country and when this happens, people always look for things to do . When someone start to do mine, that is the only job for him therefore he intends not to stop even if it causes disturbances to people in that particular vicinity.
1.water population: This occurs when substances are dropped into our water bodies which makes them impure and unsafe for human consumption. This illegal mining drop certain substances in our water bodies and turn to be unsafe. This is one of major effects of mining.
2.Deforestation:This is the cutting down of trees. This happens when illegal miners visit a particular place they want to do their mining activities and there are trees where they want to do their activities. They cut down trees so that they can get vast space to do that.
3.There is limited access to land agriculture productivity:Because of the illegal mining activities there is no lands for agriculture.farmers barely get lands to farm on because they have used almost everywhere for their mining activities.
•Identify and protect places most suitable for illegal mining activities
•Establish a tight security to breakdown on illegal miners in the country.
•Supervise and control small scale miners
• Create alternative employment to people
• Government should pass on rules and regulations to the people
• Educating the people on the effects of illegal mining
• Reuse and recycle waste material
