Dreams of the Youth
The dream of every youth is to have better life and contribute meaningfully to the growth of their country. The environment people are born into has huge bearing on the future prospects of its dwellers.
Many a time, one wishes to write about this country and either the person becomes too emotional or would be seen as a cynic who sees nothing good about this country. No! some of us are not pessimists who sees nothing good about this country. We are just reflect on the past, present and try to predict the future looking into the crystal ball.
We sit aloof in this country while politicians toss with the future of the youth by dividing them on the basis of party loyalty at the expense of national loyalty. We are willing to kill ourselves to get people in power so that they can loot State resources and bequeath it to their children who'll eventually succeed their parents as leaders while those of us who fight on their behalf squalor in poverty and pass unto our children nothing but misery and hopelessness.
The youth not knowing what the future holds for them, may be lured by into the ranks of some of this terrorist groups facing the sub-region. These are ready recruits that can be bought due to bad governance and would be ready to take up arms against the state which has failed to provide them hope for the future. Students graduates after school and sit decades at home without hopes of getting jobs in the next decades to come without joining the political bandwagon. The status in Ghana is to join politics and display opulence among your peers who have decide not to join the cabal of looting from the state. Ghana indeed is rotten to the core. The youth are dying daily with their dreams with some thrown to rot in jail for stealing bunch of plantain while their colleagues who enters into politics can steal money meant to build hospitals and go scot free with impunity and immunity. This is the sad reality. But woe unto you if you whine and complain about this inequality, you'll be seen as a cynic who see nothing good about the status-quo.
Our hospitals and rods are killing us daily and is being reported as statistics. Our youth are crossing the Saharan and the gulf of Guinea sinking with their dreams and we think it is normal. Without a massive uprising by the working class nothing would change in Ghana.
Lemme end here for my tongue loves to wag
The dreams of the youth are exceptional and the goals are great, but it is difficult to be successful in our part of the world. That is the more reason why our youth are trying their possible best to go to the Western world.
Great entry bro.
Thanks for reading bro...we may get there one-day but by then, some of us may not be alive then.
Sure, you are right.
As you rightly said, when we want to talk about the country it might seem we hate the country. But even an outsider can see what we are going through in this country. Things are not good and we can only hope it changes with time.
