Movies or Books? Part 1

I was reminiscing about the good old days when we were younger, those times when we were made to debate about issues. It was so much fun and I always enjoyed those times, the funny thing is sometimes you know very well that the side you picked may just lose because your points won't be much and it is not a solid argument and yet we defend it like lawyers.

We are keen to put our feet in the mud knowing very well it would suck us in and that we would sing, a terrible loss awaiting, and yet the thrill, the fun, and all the good that comes with it is not able to keep us away. So today I decided to do a little debate where I would be looking into movies and books, which is better and why would we recommend one and not the other.

Movies

Movies have been one of the greatest revolutions of man in the entertainment industry, how we moved from black and white movies, and still, pictures to moving pictures, colored movies, animations, 3D, and all the fun and tricks that we see on our screens today is just amazing.

Today we have people who are full-time certified marvel fans, those who are DC fans, those that love sequels, those that prefer animations, etc. One would very much appreciate how far we have come when we look at the past. But the question is, are movies helping our generation and why would you choose a movie over books?

Well for one I am certain I can attribute the control of populations and family plannings to movies because when we have nothing to do and we are with our partners all we may end up doing is have sex which will inevitably end in procreation.

Then there is the fact that it is a fun way to learn and it is visual and enables us to remember things easily and connect concepts well. During the covid time, the entire world went virtual and education made great use of tech in that way to help students learn through videos and movies.

If you meet any youngster today and ask about his or her role model he or she may probably mention someone he or she saw on TV doing something amazing or giving a wonderful speech. It is a great motivational tool for our upcoming generation and when we continue to utilize it well the limits to the goods will be immeasurable.

Negatives

On the other hand, Movies are a major cause of promiscuity in the world today, porn is on the rise and easily accessible to all and sundry. Almost every movie you watch has some form of sensuality to it because it would get movie makers the views that would help them make a profit for their work.

People are developing a lot of health issues as a result of movie addiction and it is supporting a sedentary life, it is keeping people from doing things they ought to do thus affecting productivity. Children would rather leave their books to watch cartoons or a sequel on TV because they don't watch to miss an episode.

Conclusion

So there's always a good and a bad side to everything, I believe the most important that would have to focus on moderation and monitoring from all angles to ensure that things that could be used for good are used for good so that we could benefit most from it.
