Dysmenorrhea
Dysmenorrhea is the medical or scientific term for what we all know as menstrual cramps. Menstrual cramps can be painful and can also be some form of mild pain. Menstrual cramps occur a day or two to menstruation and normally subsides once the period is done.
Menstrual cramps may be as a result of a health care condition for which I would be referred to secondary, however, if this is not the case then it makes it a primary case. Menstrual cramps come with pains in the lower abdomen, back, and thighs.
Those who may experience severe forms of pain can experience vomiting and nausea. Some even lose consciousness and faint, others also experience diarrheas' as a result. According to the experts, these apply to the primary form of dysmenorrhea and not the secondary.
Some conditions that may result in one experiencing painful menstruation include adenomyosis, endometriosis, fibroids, cervical stenosis, etc. And so please do well to consult your physician if you are experiencing severe menstrual cramps.
Solutions to Dysmenorrhea
If you are experiencing severe menstrual cramps or pains in general it is first of all advisable to seek medical care to ensure that it is primary and not secondary since the secondary cases can cause other problems for your reproductive health in the future.
To ease your suffering you may want to take some pain killers, ideally Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen or gebedol would go a long way to help ease the pain since they reduce the release of the prostaglandins in the system which is one of the hormones that bring about contraction during menstruation and adds up to the pain one would experience.
You may also want to try heat therapy using hot water on your lower abdomen, it works for some people. Another thing you can do maybe to try the use of contraceptives which tend to also work for the lot, your gynecologist may even suggest it for you if other management protocols are not working for you.
Conclusion
And so do not suffer in silence because there are ways available to ease the sufferings we go through as women during these painful times of the month. Do not hesitate, visit your physician today and get the help you need. Thanks for reading and I wish you the best in the days to come.

Great and very excellent way of treating and reducing Dysmenorrhea. However, I have a friend who have been going through this with severe pains. The problem even becomes worse when shes takes those pains reliefs for a month then the next month is something.
Is there something she should do or seek medical attention as you said?
I would reckon that she sees a gynecologist for assessment, something could be wrong somewhere
