On Steemit, Helping Others Is Helping Yourself, Don't Be Self-Centered

Life isn't just about you but others as well. We are interdependent, no one can make it alone without the support of others. From a personal observation, that's how steemit works. You help yourself as you help others. The fact that the system take into account both the authors and Curators when giving rewards means that we are interdependent.

Everyone else's input is needed to build a strong Steemit platform, and every effort put into making the system work is rewarded. Both authors and curators get a share of rewards from their engagement on the Steemit platform. Authors receive payout for the content they share and Curators are also entitled to curation rewards.

With other social media sites, you can choose to ignore whatever content anyone shares but I see Steemit to be different. You benefit while helping others. I never knew about this until I begin to learn more about how the whole system actually works. There is a need for us to dedicate more efforts in helping one another knowing the fact we help ourselves as we do so.
