The Diary Game: Thursday Activity|| Day One In School For Freshers And Parents
Goodnight fellow steemanians and greetings to you any where you are reading this post from. It's always a pleasure to come into your homes with my post. I always say that, the aim to share our day with friends even though, we can not meet personally to share this great experience physically.
Today in Ghana's academic calendar marks the beginning of new challenge for those who graduated and had fully gained admission into the numerous Senior High Schools in Ghana. My school Nsutaman Catholic Senior High School was given over one thousand students this year which is far more than what we had last year.
The day began with an exams for the second years who are bound to go home tomorrow for vacation and to also create some space for the first and third years. The examinations started very early.
After the first paper, parents started trooping in with the wards. Today being the first day, every parents will want his/her ward to come early so he/she can get a better place to sleep. Those who came today was mainly those admitted it the boarding house. Their colleagues who are day students will join them on Monday for teaching and learning to begin.
By 9 am to 10am the school premises designated for the registration was full to capacity. We never anticipated to record such huge numbers today looking at the rains but students and parents managed to come and register. Inspection of their things began and this is to see if none of them brought unauthorized material into the school and also to see that the child is fully prepared for the school.
The inspection and registration went very slow and the numbers too made parents stressful and frustrated. We could feel their plight because so came from the northern part of the country to the southern part. Some stayed hours without food. The change of environment and the mere fact that parents will leave them alone was also sorrowful looking at the faces of these teenagers who had lived their entire life with their loved ones.
Finally we were able to serve all those who came today and their wards have been given a very nice place to stay. These students are in good hands and they will be save but my concern is their first night on campus. Some cannot sleep today because it happened to me when I was at their age. How you sleep will change, when you wake up will change. This time you are showered into the world of adulthood. This is where you learn to become and adult so I pray that, they all grow to fulfill their own aspirations and the aspirations of their parents. Teacher will do our best to help build our future leaders.
