Together We Stand (Poem)
Together
Hold me close to your soft chest,
They charge my sensation to life,
They make the cells in my veins lip,
Like foxes in the downtown woods.
Tell me those words of affection,
They bring my eardrums some sounds,
They beat alongside my heartbeat,
Like a music fiesta in the moon.
Take my hands and swing them on,
They shake off yesterday's painfulness,
They drain my heart of its little chaffs,
Like yellow leaves from an apple tree.
Let's take a kiss with our eyes closed,
They take me on a journey into me,
They soak me in an unknown serenity,
Like when I walk by some fine lilies.
Let's make a toast by the night's watch,
With my soft skin lost in your soft touch;
Let's host vigils — just you and me,
Like you and I were just meant to be.
Together
