The much Anticipated Meetup took place today: Updates and The way Forward

Today was indeed another great day for steemians in Ghana. Our much anticipated meetup finally took off today. For me it's been a long time since I joined our meetup; recently I have been engaged with much work and school but I was glad the Easter holiday gave me the chance to make it to this meetup.

Today was a public holiday and so it was just a perfect day for meetup that will allow everyone to attend. I was so excited seeing my old pals and new steemians. I met a great family today, kudos to the great minds behind the successful meetup (@oppongk @njaywan @mcsamm @nattybongo @anaman)

The introductory session

The program was scheduled to take place at X5 plus and it commenced at exactly 10am. We had the following people in attendance @mcsamm, @oppongk and @elliamor @anaman, @yawgh, @zicodee, @nas-gh, @collinz, @banapat and @awuahbenjamin.

Though 20 people registered and we expected all to make it there but we couldn't get all, perhaps it was an inconvenience beyond their control. The number didn't seem encouraging compared to our previous meetup but still the meetup was successful.

We began the program with a word of prayer from @collinz after which @mcsamm took over and chaired the program. He coordinated the program by allowing those who are knowledgeable in various aspect of Steemit to share their knowledge and educate the first timers.

@anaman enlightened us about the Steemit blockchain and entreated all and sundry to read more about Steemit white paper which contains detailed information about what one needs to be abrest with before finding his way on the Steemit platform.

Being a crypto enthusiasts, he took so much time to discuss about crytocurrency and the need for us to invest in steem.
He also addressed the issues about how one can buy and sell steem easily on the Steemit platform.
@oppongk was also given the chance to discuss with us how we can possibly grow the Steem Ghana community. This was a point where members were allowed to bring out their views and how we can become stronger and build the Ghanaian Steemit community.

@nattybongo then concluded on how we can grow and sustain Steem-ghana community over the long term. He also emphasized on the need for each member of the community to explore more on the Steemit platform since opportunities abound.

As an experienced steemian, I also shared with the the members the need to think about a long term investment plan, have multiple streams of income and invest early.

The way forward

The last session was about what we can do to help sustain Steemit and grow as community.

We planned to have more avenues where we can channel Steem into trading in Ghana.

To engage in more promotional activities; to inform the masses about steem and how they can also invest and trade with steem.

To build a strong community where no one would be left out but feel belonging.

Refreshment and closing

We couldn't call the day off without a refreshment. Everyone was treated special; we served members with their favorite delicacy. Fun, exciting are some of the words I would use to describe today's event. I'm sure those who missed would definitely make it next time.
