WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE WEEVIL? 🪲
This little critter, also known as a storage pest, causes more damage to harvest than any other species you've ever seen. The Weevil is the name given to this creature.
Weevils are classified as members of the kingdom Animalia, phylum Arthropoda, subclasses Hexapoda, class Insecta, and order coleopteran, according to their biological classification. Beetles belong to the Coleoptera order, which includes weevils. Beetles have more recognized species than any other insect group. Insects are found in about 1 million different species around the planet, with roughly 7,000 new species being discovered each year. Beetles account for more than a third of all known species, and it is extremely likely that there are 5 million to 10 million species of beetles that have yet to be identified. However, because the majority of these unnamed species reside in rain forests, and given the rate of forest degradation, the majority of these species may become extinct.
The exoskeleton of beetles is strong and segmented. The head, thorax, and abdomen are the three body areas formed by the segments. On the head, there are a pair of antennae and a pair of complex eyes. The thorax produces three pairs of legs and frequently two pairs of wings. Legs, mouthparts, and, in the case of flying beetles, wings are all moved by muscles. The neurological, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, and reproductive systems are all represented in the body of a beetle.
The brain is made up of fused ganglia in the head. Down the length of the body, a pair of ventral nerve cords with ganglia run. A dorsal contracting vessel, also known as the heart, pumps bloodlike hemolymph via vessels and into the hemocoel, a bodily cavity. As with other insects, spiracles and tracheae are used to breathe.
The male has sperm-producing testes as well as an aedeagus, or penis. Females have two ovaries that produce eggs and a vaginal canal. Internal fertilization occurs to produce offsprings.

Weevils are great animal with very difficult character. Their proboscis can cause a lot of damage to agricultural farm products mostly cereal.
