Hello everyone, I would like to share my experience on our first Easter Steemit meet up.

I will first of all like the thank the Almighty God for granting us a successful event. I also thank the organisers for making this a memorable event.

This meet up was much anticipated because not only was I going to have fun, I was going to get more clarity and insight into Steemit. I cannot thank @njaywan enough for introducing me into this network.

The event was slated for 10am at Mayaga hotel in Navrongo so I had to make preparations early since I was going with some friends.

We left for Mayaga and arrived at around 9:50am. The programme started after about an hour when almost everyone had arrived. While waiting, we were entertained with some refreshments and music.

Our MC @debbyann took charge of the programme and ask for an opening prayer followed by an introduction of all members and we all got acquainted.

We had our first speaker, @cherub27 give an introduction to steemit, what it is all about and a bit of history on steem.

He made mention of Steemit as being based on a block chain network created on July 4th 2016. A block chain is a system which records transactions made in cryptocurrency. I also learnt it is a platform that provides users with thoughtful news and commentary.

He also spoke about the various forms of tokens as a reward for creativity; steem, steem power and sbd.

We had our second speaker @alhajibabajnr test our knowledge on steemit with a few questions. I particularly didn't mind because right answers were going to get rewarded. He also stressed on making our posts as creative as possible and free of plagiarism and it being one of the reasons for the weekly telegram meetings.

Our third speaker @farhmade spoke on encouragement. He dwelled on how we should encourage each other by voting and commenting on posts. We were also advised to take part and share the content of contests we come across.

With all we took from the speakers, it was time for the refreshment and I must applaud our organisers for a good job done.

He briefed on the mistakes of newbies and how to earn curation. He also answered the questions members had.
