Betterlife with Steem: Free Eye Screening Exercise by @bettervision
Hello all,
It is good times from this side of the world. Steemit is impacting lives daily on different scales and on this particular day steemit saw to it that some individuals got the chance to have their eyes checked for free without having to pay a dime, all expenses catered for through steem funds earned.
The Program started at exactly 9am as planned. We began by setting up our instruments and tools for the exercise. Drugs and Spectacles purchased were also arranged nicely to make it easily accessible when one needs to get one. The event was held around the church of Pentecost.
The program lasted for the greater portion of the day and came to a close somewhere 3:30pm. Due to the fact that it was a working day we did not get the individuals coming in masses at a goal however they kept coming one after the other by taking short leave from the work place.
More than 30 patients were seen to and half of them were adult prebyopes who got free readers for their near work thus reading, writing, sewing, anything you can thing of that ought to be done within 40cm. The distance glasses some were able to get the small powers like -0.50DS which were readily available however for cylinders they have to be worked on and sent later.
No extreme cases were report, there were two glaucoma suspicious cases that were referred to the nearest eye facility for further test and management if need be. 20 Ophthalmic drops were also administered for patients use.
The entire program was a success and we want to say a big thank you to all who supported, donated and showed us love. Thanks to @elyon, @collinz, @mcsamm for your generous offers. God Bless you all. Stay safe.
