Majority of Ghanaians frustrated as SIM registration deadline approaches || Deadline is 31st July 2022 ||

Two days left to the deadline for the SIM registration excluding today, that is on the 31st July 2022 which has left majority of these Ghanian's frustrated. There are thousands of reasons that have left these Ghanian's in that frustrated state of not registering their SIM cards.

Hundreds of Ghanian's are in queue trying to register, validate or receive their Ghana card. Few of the Ghanaian citizens are also disappointed in the activities of their services provider making them relactant to register while others are also just not interested in registering and most importantly those that have borrowed money on the mobile bank and think they will be able to go free without Registering the SIM card are few of the reasons.

Whenever you visit any of the registration centers in the cities, there is a huge queue and cloud waiting to register their SIMs. Some are passing through illegal means to get theirs registered as soon as possible through payment of bride and other means.

The comment from others simply tells and says that, I am working for someone and I can't go and join that long in the name of registering SIM card. Looking at how difficult it is to look for work, I will not risk it to go and join queue in the name of registering my SIM card.

According to one of the Ghanaian citizen that was asked, He made it clear that he will not register and that it is intentional because he wants them to get rid of it because their services are poor. Another one also added that, he has no interest in registering because the process is time consuming and that he will not necessary and that looking at the number of people who have not registered, he thinks the deadline will not hold.

Another one also says that his Ghana card is is missing and that he has to go the police station, make a report which they will give him a report. He would have to return to the registration center where he could give that report out. The report will then be use as evidence to prepare a new card by printing the already existing one. That might take up to two weeks depending on the location you are doing that.

The last person interview made it clear that he has registered his MTN but haven't registered the Vodafone. And that he has tried that several times but couldn't get it. He is now bust that he can't go and register that one too.

According to the ministry of communication for the republic of Ghana, the registration process have been reviewed and there will not be any chance for postponement. And in fact the head of the ministry Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has already announced that the date which is the 31st July 2022 will not be postponed.

It was earlier on extended by 4 months some few months ago. The minister also made it clear and encourage all citizens to register for the best. The exercise started in somewhere in October 1st 2021 and I believe will be ending in two days time. I will encourage all Ghanaians who have not registered to do that as soon as possible before it is too late.
