Journey through a Black hole. Путешествие сквозь чёрную дыру
The whole crew looked with horror and despair at the actions of the captain, trying to catch in his distraught eyes at least a ghost of hope for a successful outcome of events. Keeping cool, the seasoned space wolf frantically worked the switches, trying to transfer the ship to manual control. Cursing softly and gritting his teeth, he once again tried to straighten the course, but still the nose of the spacecraft steadily stretched into the yawning abyss.
Seconds have turned into infinity, the laws of space and time have already begun to be distorted under the influence of the Death Star. The crew members were already seeing bulkheads breaking and portholes stretching out in a string, which would portend the inevitable end of their long journey through the galaxy, but the next moment the captain's enthusiastic cry was heard: "Everyone get ready to hyper-jump!"
Creaking bulkheads and trembling all over its body, the old merchant spacecraft made an inaudible pop and the next moment it was forced out in the vicinity of its destination near Proxima Centauri. "This time it seems to have worked out," the captain removed his palm from the control lever and slowly wiped the sticky sweat from his forehead...
Вся команда с ужасом и отчаянием смотрела на действия капитана, пытаясь уловить в его обезумевших глазах хотя бы призрак надежды на благополучный исход событий. Сохраняя хладнокровие, бывалый космический волк лихорадочно работал переключателями, стараясь перевести корабль на ручное управление. Негромко ругаясь и скрипя зубами он в очередной раз попробовал выровнять курс, но всё равно нос космического судна неуклонно тянулся в зияющую пропасть.
Секунды превратились в бесконечность, законы пространства и времени уже начали искажаться под воздействием звезды Смерти. Членам экипажа уже повсюду мерещились ломающиеся переборки и вытягивающиеся в струну иллюминаторы, что предвещало бы неизбежный конец их долгому путешествию через галактику. Но в следующее мгновение раздался восторженный крик капитана: "Всем приготовиться к гиперпрыжку!"
Скрипя переборками и дрожа всем своим корпусом старое торговое космическое судно издало неслышный хлопок и в следующее мгновение вынурнуло в окрестностях пункта назначения возле Проксима Центавра. "В этот раз кажется обошлось" – капитан убрал ладонь от рычага управления и медленно вытер липкий пот со лба...
