First came the worry. He stood near the balcony that looked out directly to the sea and saw a huge sailboat moored to his house. The setting sun blinded the pink clouds on the horizon, causing them to shrink into a tight ball and only have time to shout a silent curse before the night swallowed up the shades of the dying day.
Сначала пришло беспокойство. Он встал возле балкона, который выходил прямо к морю и увидел причаливающий к его дому огромный парусник. Заходящее солнце ослепило розовые облака на горизонте, отчего они сжались в плотный комок и успели лишь выкрикнуть безмолвное проклятие, перед тем, как ночь поглотила оттенки умирающего дня.
But the ghostly emerald light coming from the sea did not let this day die to the end. Before the sailboat stopped right next to his window, the man had time to notice how amazingly beautiful the reflected spots from the water shimmer on the ceiling and walls of the room.
Но призрачный изумрудный свет, исходящий из моря не дал этому дню умереть до конца. Перед тем, как парусник остановился прямо возле его окна, человек успел заметить, как удивительно красиво переливаются отражённые блики от воды на потолке и стенах комнаты.
Suddenly, the floor under his feet cracked and parted, but it did not absorb anything, on the contrary, a kind of incredible calm enveloped the world around him. A moment later, water lilies bloomed in the water, and brightly colored fishes began to swim to the surface, so that everyone could see their wide scaly backs.
Внезапно пол под ногами разошёлся, но не поглотил в себя ничего, наоборот, некое невероятное спокойствие охватило мир вокруг. Ещё через миг, в воде зацвели кувшинки, и яркие разноцветные рыбы стали подплывать к поверхности, чтобы каждый желающий смог увидеть их широкие чешуйчатые спины.
