Adat is a law that is closely related to a nation. In international law, customs are prioritized and respected because every nation in the world has its own customs. So in terms of international law it is called a convention.

Every nation has the right to maintain their customs because if the nation has strong customs then the state will be strong.

In Aceh, custom is the main thing in social life because custom has become a guide because it is based on religious law, namely the Qur'an and sunnah.

Proposing is one of the customs that has been socialized by the people of Aceh, okay, because there are several steps that must be passed when proposing to a woman. Starting from introductions to determining the dowry and time of the wedding.

In proposing to a woman, in Aceh it must be by bringing together the woman's family with the man's family. However, the two families may represent this meeting to village officials.

Village officials only convey the mandate of the two families of the bride and groom.
