WORLD OF XPILAR : My Daily Activities at Lhokseumawe Fish Market

Today I want to share a post about my daily activities.

As you can see, I work as a fish seller at the fish market in Lhokseumawe. This market is one of the largest markets in Aceh because this market is a fish shopping center for people who come from various regions from the city of Bireun to the city of Krueng Geukuh.

From the east, starting from the Lhonibong area to the Peunteut city area. So it is not surprising that this market has a turnover of up to tens of billions of rupiah.

The fish unloading port is not far from this market, only a few hundred meters. When the fishing boat docked they unloaded the fish there, after that they were driven by a transport rickshaw and taken to the fish auction market where my activities were selling and buying fish.

The fish are placed in the stalls of each ship owner, they sell it to wholesalers like me in an auction, meaning whoever makes the bid higher, that person gets the item.

The price of fish varies according to the quality of the fish that is unloaded. Ranging from 3 to 5 million. Usually the types of fish that are many and often auctioned are tuna type fish and others.

At the time of the fish season, such as the middle of the year like this, the price of fish is rather cheap because the sea conditions are shady and there are lots of fish. However, at the end of the year, the price of fish is very expensive because fishermen cannot go to sea because the weather conditions are very strong, so the fishermen cannot work.

When fish are not available, market conditions are very dry, so what happens is that traders are competing to bring in fish from outside the area, such as fish from Belawan.

Usually the fish from Belawan is frozen and doesn't taste good. Unlike the fish in Lhokseumawe port, the fish is still fresh and tastes very sweet and delicious.
