Living ART(ist)

Life is hard! Artist life is too! Lot's of people see artists as a burden to society, because they think artists don't work and are being kept alive by welfare, subsidy, charity or whatever you can think of (varies in different countries).

However artists and their creativity are often motors of progress.

I'll give you an example of creative thinking. (Fictional)

Everybody knows you can't write with a normal pen in space, due to lack of gravity, the ink won't enter the ballpoint. So you need a "space pen". The research to make this pen consist a couple om million in R&D.

The creative mind would just say, "Why don't you just use a $1 pencil?"

This is only an example on how artists (or other creatives) can be useful to companies. Of course there's also the obvious reasons why companies need artists, but we're not going to talk about that, since it's obvious! (Hint: marketing campaigns don't design themselves!)

So, if you want to live your life in a prosperous society, support artists! No matter how young or unknown they are, they might just be the next Banksy.
