The Sony Center is Berlin's most emblematic shopping centre. Located on Potsdamer Platz, since 2000 it has been the headquarters of the commercial brand that gives it its name and has become the busiest shopping centre in the whole city with dozens of shops, bars and restaurants. Its interior roof changes colour at sunset and is made up of several giant plastic tiles alternating with a transparent canopy that lets in the light from outside. It was designed by architect Helmut Jhan.

Image taken with the Canon 24mm f:3.5 tilt-shift lens, consisting in two exposures and then stitched with PanoTools software.

Hi @bambuka,

Have you used the HDR technique?

The image is formed by two pictures taken with a tilt&shift lens and then processed separately but with the same values in Capture 1, a RAW processor, and stitched together manually in PanoTools. It may look like an HDR but the outcome is achieved with the light and shadow tools of the C1.

Many thanks for your interest.

I haven't tried a tilt & shift lens yet, but I want to try :) Interesting lens for different effects.
Have you taken two identical shots or with different apertures?
I use Lightroom, it stitches well both HDR and panoramas.

As the axis of the lens is off-centre, a picture is taken at the top of the path, then the lens is moved to the bottom and other shot is taken. It's like a vertical panorama that fits perfectly. Later on, you crop as you like. The exposure is exactly the same, although Pano Tools may correct the difference. It is advisable that the exposure do not vary. Obviously, a tripod is mandatory.

I understood you, thanks for the answer. This is a very interesting lens. After all, the tilt of the optical axis is also regulated there.
I'll have to try it)
