Photo contest: post processing #14 | My contribution

in WORLD OF XPILAR2 years ago (edited)

Hello @bambuka and all good photography fans.

First of all, the topic of the contest is really motivating, an excellent opportunity to show our photographic work.

Secondly, I think it is interesting to explain how the whole process has been, and not only the processing, but also the shooting.

The photograph I am submitting was taken from a helicopter over the island of Mallorca. I had been working in different points of the island for almost 3 hours of continuous flight and by legal regulations in the type of aircraft we were using, we could not stay more than those 3 hours. On the way back to the base we couldn't stop to take any specific shots, so the ones I took were done on the fly. I saw that farmhouse and shot four times without having time to look at the camera settings. The result was underexposed and poorly composed files, but at least they were in focus.

Here is a screenshot of the original raw RAW file, which I chose to process and try to get a minimally attractive image.

After some neutral processing the raw file in Capture One, the photo went into Photoshop like this

In the layers that are copies of the background I removed some unwanted objects.

I made a processing by zones of the sown field, giving to each one a different tonality but that was realistic, as well as contrast and saturation.

Finally the final image in square format, eliminating the parts that I think did not add anything to the image.

That's a very good job of processing @xaviduran.
It goes beyond clicking a button and putting on a filter.
Those of us who know how much work it takes to do a good processing job know that...!

Great picture! A perfect combination of the graphics of all the elements!

Regards @xaviduran, The photographs are very beautiful, even though I took them from a helicopter they came out very perfect and I would like my photographs to come out like this.

have a happy night.

I really liked your work.
Everything worked out well in it: both new graphics and cropping. It is interesting that when cropping the photo into a square, the focus of the gaze changed (it moved from the green spot of the pool to the house) Beautiful transformation!

Great job, my friend, glad to see you at our party!
I especially liked the separate tinting of the fields and at the same time they look natural, without excessive sharpness and brightness.
And of course, the composition with the exception of an insignificant space.

A very productive processing algorithm. An ordinary photo turned almost into a picture :)

Now I want to fly a helicopter or a small plane ... :)

Many thanks for your kind works @bambuka.

he selected parts of the field are the key for making the image more attractive.

🖐 😊 👌
The furrows of the arable land and the boundaries of the fields are already interesting as graphic elements. But I agree, they still need to be correctly positioned and this is the key to attractiveness :)
