Lanzarote is one of the Canary Islands, the closest to the mainland, and is characterised by its volcanic origin. It has a landscape that at many moments can look like a moon, due to the craters and the dark colour of its surface. In the north there is a small island, La Graciosa, which is separated from the coast of Lanzarote by barely two hundred metres. It is the smallest inhabited island in the Canary Islands and can be seen in its entirety from El Mirador del Río.

Lanzarote es una de las Islas Canarias, la que está más cerca del continente, y se caracteriza por ser de origen volcánico. Tiene un paisaje que en muchos momentos puede parecer lunar, por los cráteres y el color oscuro de su superficie. En el norte hay una pequeña isla, La Graciosa, que está separada de la costa de Lanzarote por apenas doscientos metros. Es la isla habitada más pequeña de Las Canarias y se puede ver en toda su extensión desde El Mirador del Río.
