(English / Esp) Libraries of the world II | The Library of philology of the University of Berlin.
If the previous post was about a classical library, today I present a contemporary one, the Philology Library of the University of Berlin.
It was designed by the prestigious English architect Norman Foster. The building has a semi-oval shape and is built to make efficient use of natural light and thermal insulation, using the mobility of the external panels, which by means of photoelectric cells make them open and close depending on the sunlight.
The interior design is very dynamic, with the central area of each level being the place where the books are stored, leaving the part dedicated to reading next to the windows facing outwards, creating a profile of organic shapes.

Si la anterior entrada era de una biblioteca clásica, hoy os presento una de corte contemporáneo, la Biblioteca de Filología de la Universidad de Berlin.
El diseño corrió a cargo del prestigioso arquitecto inglés Norman Foster. El edificio tiene forma semi oval y está construido para aprovechar de una manera eficiente la iluminación natural y el aislamiento térmico, usando para ello la movilidad de los paneles externos, que por medio de células fotoeléctricas hacen que los mismos se abran y cierren en función de la luz solar.
El diseño interior es muy dinámico, siendo la zona central de cada nivel el lugar donde se almacenan los libros dejando la parte dedicada a la lectura junto a las cristaleras que dan al exterior, creando un perfil de formas orgánicas.
Las imágenes que ilustran el artículo describen con bastante precisión cómo es el edificio.
