Esta fotografía fue tomada con la cámara de mi teléfono Samsung A32, el 31 de agosto de 2022, mientras me dirigía a una plaza comercial cercana. El edificio, al que llamo coloquialmente "nido de pájaro", es el Gran Museo de la Cultura Maya, ubicado en la calle 60 Norte, a un lado del Centro de Convenciones Siglo XXI. La última vez que entré a ese edificio fue un domingo, hace unos tres o cuatro años; en ese entonces solo los domingos podías entrar gratis si presentabas tu identificación y demostrabas ser de Yucatán. Ignoro si ahora cobran, dados los lamentables recortes del gobierno federal en el presupuesto anual destinado a Ciencia y Cultura.

This picture was taken with my Samsung A32's phone camera, on August 31st, 2022, while I was going to a close mall. The building, which I colloquially call the "bird's nest," is the Great Museum of Mayan Culture, located on North 60th Street, next to the Siglo XXI Convention Center. The last time I entered that building was on a Sunday, about three or four years ago; back then you could only get in for free on Sundays if you showed your ID and proved you were from Yucatan. I don't know if they now charge fees, given the unfortunate cuts by the federal government in the annual budget for Science and Culture.
