One of the interesting things to draw is the human face. Even if the process isn’t interesting, the accolades that follows when someone sees it makes it very interesting.

Drawing is easy when you know what to do to achieve what you want.

Before you begin any drawing, you may have had the look of the final piece in your head and if it doesn’t come out the way it was in your had, you become frustrated and a bit disappointed.

It’s very ok to feel that way because if something doesn’t frustrate you, you won’t strive for excellence. People do say that there are no bad arts; that’s true but you as the artist knows what you want so in a case where it doesn’t come out the way you envisioned it, what you should do is relax, sleep over it, try using a different surface for studies.

Studies before making an art piece is very necessary most especially if you are a beginner. Why studies are necessary is because it will expose you to the work and also where you would have faced challenges, you will know how to go about it.

Most of us artists, mostly the beginners are fond of making arts to add to the numbers instead of making art to learn something new. Making art and trying out new things while at it gives a better understanding and unlocks a simpler and better work flow.

Now let’s talk about this piece.
This piece here was done with charcoal pencils and graphite pencils on pelican paper which took about 4 hours to be completed. I couldn’t video this piece because it was needed urgently and making videos while drawing kind of slows me down.

So here I started off with the sketch, then proceeded to drawing the eyes and the eye brow and some part of the skin surrounding the eyes and also some part of the forehead.

Here I am detailing my forehead with the help of the tombow mono zero Elastomer eraser.

I then move on to drawing my eyes with my charcoal pencil and then use my mono zero eraser to fix in the details

I then proceed to drawing draw the mouth with

After shading the mouth, I highlight it with the mono zero eraser

I then move to shading the neck and part of the chest; this is used soft brushes for it

Now is time to fix the hair. I used charcoal pencil for this and mono zero for highlights

Now the hair is done, let’s go deal with the cloth

I start off by making outlines for the patterns of the cloth, I then shade with the charcoal pencil and blend it with the use a brush.

That’s how this piece was done and here is the finished piece. I hope you love it
