Flying Saucer and an Agent in Kalyan Skies | #club75 | competition 116

in WORLD OF XPILAR3 years ago

As is customary, John departed her position at the Ministry at 17.00. The weekend has finally arrived. He went to Kzlay to get some work done. Then he boarded the local metro and began his daily commute to his home, which he had done thousands of times before. He saw the subway had abruptly halted just before the last stop. So, all of a sudden.

There has been no movement or announcement. For a few more minutes, he remained in his own world, listening to Dancewith Me in his ear and keeping his gaze fixed on the phone's streaming Insta. Then he felt uneasy for no apparent reason. He removed his headphones and looked to the left and right. Except for him, there was no one else in the subway.

He stood up and began walking. The wagons were all empty. The subway door was slowly opening and closing. He abruptly crossed into the station, unsure whether to exit or not. He dashed over to the engineer's area and rapped on the door. Surprisingly, it was devoid of people. He wondered if the city had started running metro services on autopilot. He turned away from the subway and began heading toward the exit. There were no attendants at the station.

"If you're not busy," he complained as he walked out onto the street, "call a taxi now and give me some additional money to travel home." That's when he was really taken aback. The streets were also deserted, which was unthinkable in Kalyan after work hours. He got up and started walking. It wasn't a taxi, and it wasn't a person. It was as if the city had been abandoned all of a sudden, and everything stayed the same.

The aroma of freshly baked bread wafted from the ovens. The lighting in the houses was faint. In a loop, the traffic lights changed from red to yellow to green. However, there were no individuals in the capital's notorious city. What had happened to them?

He heard a delicate buzzing sound, similar to that of a bee. He could hear the voice growing louder, but he couldn't see it. Then he noticed something. In the skies of Kalyan, a flying saucer approached him at a low level. He wanted to scream out of dread for a second, but he couldn't. Hundreds of flying saucers came towards him, hovering 10-15 meters over his head, like a swarm of birds. They had all gathered around the first of the silvery and other gray flying saucers to arrive and depart.

And then he found himself inside the flying saucer, surrounded by a blinding beam of light. "Wow, beam technology?" he exclaimed. Tall, skinny, but rather thin people stood in front of him. They were all scrutinizing it with various gadgets in their hands, as if they were in the operating room assessing a case. Then one of them, a woman, took the initiative.

-Hello, there. We are people from the planet Kebula, in the Boxima Centaurus Centercup area. Yes, we are all human beings who live in the same galaxy. Green Water is my name.

For a brief while, there was silence. John was no longer afraid, but he was perplexed.

-We congratulate you on your achievement. You outperformed the other 1 million candidates and were chosen to be sent to Kalyan.

-That's great, but I'm already in Kalyan. What should be done?

-You don't reside in Kalyan, no. You live in one of Kalyan's one million simulations. Like your other mates that are the same size and have the same personality traits as you. This simulation is identical to everything in the city, and the level of realism is astounding.

-So, since I was born, I've been living in a simulation?

Green Water gave a friendly grin. He motioned for me to approach the screen. On the screen, the history of the city he lived in, as well as the stages of his life, flashed by.

-You did, in fact, live in a Kalyan simulation. Many lifeless planets in the galaxy have city simulations like this. You were the most grounded among them, and now you're off to Kalyan to serve as a covert officer for our civilisation.

He added to John as an agent. And for what purpose?

To avoid upsetting the equilibrium. On such worlds, we construct a check and balance mechanism to ensure that Earthlings do not disrupt our power balance. We recognize them in all of the world's cities, and if they become more powerful, they will act similarly to us. Because we are both human races descended from the same ancestor.

The lights of Kalyan had gone to sleep as the flying saucers from the Kalyan sky soared into space. Looking up at the rising and departing flying saucers, John began walking with purpose towards his house. He was aware of the route.
