RE: Steem DIP (Development Incentive Program) Implementation Announcement by @donekim
Goodness. As great as it is to see that change is afoot...
A $500,000 annual budget is allocated for the community-led development of Steemit.com .
In 2 years, that's $1m (I have a degree in maths).
You could rewrite the entire platform (in a programming language that is more easily maintained by a larger number of people) for a fraction of this amount.
The main tasks of the Developer Incentive Program are optimization of Steemit.com features and other infrastructure development .
$1m over a 2 year period. Rewrite the entire thing and save yourselves $750k.
And for a bit of extra context, this statement is made by a person who has spent his career working for a Digital Agency that provided solutions to the UK's (heavily regulated) Banking sector and then working for the UK's largest investment platform.
There are "effective managers" and professional programmers.
Effective managers are usually focused on effective money...
I hear the voice of a professional programmer :)
I started out as a professional programmer but as my career progressed, I became “an effective manager” 😊
Effective managers with a background in programming can save people a lot of money.
The fact is that most "effective managers" do not have normal practical experience. And this is a real trouble. They do not know the specifics of the subject of management. I understand that the principles of management are universal...but nevertheless ...
at the same time, one of the basic principles of management... need a lot of money ...))
