RE: How Does Steemcurator01 Support Affect Authors' Behavior?

Ah, I don't know what we'd call them. I think my version will be effective too 😅

How are things today? I've not heard the outcome of the "peace" talks but given the number of tanks heading for Kyiv, I assume they ended as expected.

Belarus has nothing to lose now - They've been thrown into the same camp as Russia so might as well join the invasion. Russia has a new story - that it is worried Ukraine will start to develop nuclear weapons.

Our national news didn't mention this bit - but am I correct in thinking that Ukraine is the only country ever to have given up their nuclear weapons (in 1994 I think)? I'm sure I read this recently.

You are right, we are the only absolute idiots who have thought of doing so. This was done under pressure from the United States and Russia. At the same time, the Budapest Memorandum was signed, which allegedly guaranteed us territorial integrity. It turned out that with that memorandum you can go to the toilet.

Belarus has nothing to lose now

Today there is information that the first Belarusian troops have already entered the territory of Ukraine, but I am not sure of its authenticity. However, we expect an invasion of Belarus.

I've not heard the outcome of the "peace" talks but given the number of tanks heading for Kyiv, I assume they ended as expected.

You are right again. Our president said that he did not see negotiations, only ultimatums. This is unacceptable. In addition, the enemy fired on residential areas of Ukrainian cities during the talks. We already saw this in 2014. This is their vile tactics of pressure.

We have more and more air alarms. This is the effort of our Belarusian neighbors. From there, military planes and missiles fly to the territory of Ukraine.

Vitali Klitschko (formerly a famous boxer, now mayor of Kyiv) said today that reinforcements had arrived for the Russians, they had regrouped their troops and were advancing on Kyiv. He says the situation is difficult.

So, before the next round of talks there will be another battle for Kyiv. The results of this battle will affect the positions of the negotiators.

We've seen a lot reported again. There are reports of civilan areas being bombed, cluster bombs and vacuum bombs being used - as yet, unconfirmed. It was reported via a satellite that the tank convoy heading to Kyiv is 40km long - Putin desperate to get this finished before EU and NATO support arrives.

I've heard nothing reported here about Ukraine's disarmament back in '94. I certainly wonder if Russia would have been so intent on war if there was the risk of Ukraine going nuclear. It's sad to see you're essentially being punished for doing the right thing 28 years ago.

If it comes down to a street fight in Kyiv - My money will always be on Vitali. Especially if his brother's at his side.

Yes, they are defending the city together. You definitely don't lose your money :)

We see that the Russians are changing their tactics every day. On the first day, there were missile strikes across Ukraine to intimidate, followed by a full-scale offensive by countless troops. They expected us to lay down our arms.

When that didn't work, they focused on storming Kyiv.

When they could not take Kyiv, it turned out that they did not even envisage such an option. They ran out of fuel and began serious logistical problems. Some columns of armored vehicles were stopped by people who went out on the road and blocked it without weapons.

The Russians then moved on to bomb civilian facilities, critical infrastructure and urban sleeping areas. This tactic is not new to them. They used it in Chechnya, Donbass in 2014 and Aleppo in Syria. This tactic is aimed at breaking the resistance of the population, to intimidate it. That the people put pressure on the government to make any peace on any terms.

Our example was a failure of the nuclear disarmament program. No country will ever give up nuclear weapons in exchange for unsubstantiated guarantees. Western countries are to blame for the failure of this program. Giving guarantees, you need to make efforts to implement the agreements. Everyone forgot about the Budapest Memorandum, because it was so convenient.

At present, 100% of people in Ukraine regret that we have given up nuclear weapons.
