Nigeria @60....... Watercolor Painting - "We Stand for Nigeria!"
Today is my country's independence day and I thought of making a painting that could speak out my mind, and I finally achieved one as you can see below.
There are so many messages in the above painting but I would like us to take it one at a time. The half nakedness of the kids depicts the fact that they're quite "poor", the use of mask, I'm sure many of us out there at relate to and with that, even though they have to celebrate their country, they still had to adhere to every precautions in relation to the pandemic occurrences.
The three kids stands for the three major ethnic groups we have in Nigeria which are - Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba. Even in the midst of all the problems which are quite difficult to count out here, they still have and had the sense of unity when it comes to celebrating their country - "Nigeria". With Nigeria, the problems are vivid, but the love abounds much more!
Outlines.....
No matter the circumstances, we stand together to celebrate Nigeria our country!
