My New Sandals - (Acrylic Painting).
For sometime now I haven't been painting spontaneously like I usually do but the paintings are make now are more expressive and I must confess that I actually enjoy the process so much as the finished work these days.
This painting of a little boy highlights the emotions, excitement and shyness that comes with getting a kid from the hood/slum a dream outfit. One would probably see lots and different kinds of expressions and emotions as it varies from kids to kids.
Some kids could be so hyper with the expression of their excitement while some would just be too shy to express themselves so freely.
In this painting, I portrayed the expression of a shy kid who doesn't know how to be hyper about his excitement but yet still comes outside to make sure people in the neighborhood gets to see his new sandals.
The approach to this painting is a very mellow impasto which means; I used palette knives all through and not using a single brush at all.
At the same time, it's not a heavy impasto painting as the pigments are not so protuding out of the canvas. This is actually one of the few of my paintings where I really had the opportunity and confidence to be more carefree other than being more careful.

Innocent child you paint and this is very difficult to draw or paint innocence of kids. Good work.
