For example, youtube.com/c/techdyze is my URL. By now, many people can also create channels in the name of Tech Dyze. But this custom URL will not be found by anyone else. You must have 100 subscribers on your channel then you can claim a custom URL. Now in the new update, YouTube will release a handle. Like the Twitter handle @techdyze. Similarly, you will be given a YouTube handle on your channel. Creators who have got a custom URL will automatically get a YouTube handle. Here are many benefits of it.

All the channels will have unique handles. As soon as the update comes, your custom URL will be your handle. But if you want to change it, you can change YouTube handle only once. And after changing it, your handle will be unique. Why is YouTube implementing a handle? YouTube says this will reduce scams. How will scams reduce? For example, my channel is Tech Dyze. Now many channels are created with this name. Logo are also added the same by people.
If I do not send the link of my channel to anyone and just tell the name of my channel, then whoever searches for my channel with that name will find many channels with the same name and logo. Even scammers upload the same videos. This may cause the viewer to go to the wrong channel. But when the handle system will come. So this scam will be reduced. Because I will get a YouTube handle in my name. It will be unique. In this way, when a viewer searches by writing my YouTube handle, he will get the original channel only. YouTube believes that this will reduce scams.
There are some other things in it, such as the handle it is, it will be unique and tagable. You will be able to tag the YouTube handle. You will be able to tag it in comments, shorts, and many other places. Now, if someone creates a fake Chanel, the impersonation, and harassment policy will be applied to them. Maybe the fake channel will be taken down.

After this update, you will be able to create an alphanumeric handle only. You could also have the custom URL in any other language. But the handle will not be able to be made in any other language. But you can use underscore etc. You don't need to get 100 subscribers for the YouTube handle. You will get your handle with the name you create the channel with. Now your channel will be hard to copy. You will share your handle and people will reach your channel. This will reduce the scam and people will stop creating fake channels.
If you have taken a custom URL, then automatically the same will become your handle. But if you want to change it, you can change it once. When the update is launched, a notification will appear in your YouTube Studio. This way you will be able to change the name of your handle. A question must have come to your mind if you change the handle, will the verification mark on your channel be removed? Changing the handle will not remove your verification badge. Verification is removed by changing the name of the channel.
