Mathilda now heaved a sigh of relief, today her boss had given her leave at 10 pm, it was the end of the year and she had to complete the balance sheet today .

The only option left for her was to reach her apartment by the last local train at 11.30 instead of a taxi, because it was impossible to get a taxi to go to other suburbs at this late night.

And anyway she was afraid of traveling alone with the taxi driver so late at night. Her boss had done a favour to Mathilda and had taken her to the metro station with his driver.

When she reached the metro station around 10.40 pm , she was surprised to see that not a single person was visible at the metro station in Berlin, which has a population of 3.4 million.

Then she thought that perhaps it was getting very cold, hence people would be sitting under cover somewhere to save themselves from the cold and will leave from there only when the train is about to arrive.

And she also got busy by opening a game on her mobile. The journey from here to her suburb was only 20 minutes. There was still a delay of about 25 minutes for the train to arrive and then the electricity at the station went off and it became completely dark.

Mathilda suddenly started feeling very scared, now the silence and darkness of the platform was scaring her a lot. Out of fear, she stood aside and also switched off the screen of her mobile so that no one could know that she too was standing there.

She was not able to understand what to do and whom to call for help and who would be able to come so far to help her at this time of night. And then she surrendered himself to circumstances in the name of God.

Somehow 20 more minutes passed and then the lights of the station came on, she took a sigh of relief, and then the signs of the arrival of the train started appearing, after 5 minutes the train also reached the platform. People did not like to travel by train during such terrible cold and night time.

There were hardly 20-25 passengers in the train. She also went and sat next to a young man and saw that many people suddenly came out from different parts of the platform and boarded the train. She was right in thinking that people were hiding at different places due to cold and fear.

She reached her station around 11.55 and took a sigh of relief as her apartment was at a walking distance of 2-3 minutes from the station.

But here she had no worries, even at this time of night there were familiar streets and people.

Reaching her apartment, Mathilda swore that she would never go anywhere alone again so late at night.
