My ArtVenture: Watercolor painting Arminius „Hermannsdenkmal“
Hello my dear Steemians and Art Fans,
Yesterday I have bought new watercolor paints this time again in tubes and immediately decided to try how they will look like on paper.
When it came to topic I have chosen one of the sightseeing place the Hermannsdenkmal (German for "Hermann Monument") is a monument that we love to visit when we are back in Germany. It is located in our county Nordrhein-Westfalen. It stands on the densely forested Grotenburg , sometimes also called the Teutberg or Teut, a hill (elevation 386 m) in the Teutoburger Wald (Teutoburg Forest) range.
In 9 AD, Roman-educated Arminius (in German, Hermann) a member of the Cherusci people, turned against his former Roman allies and led an alliance of Germanic tribes to defeat three legions under Publius Quinctilius Varus.
When we arrived to that place it was for me something very special, thinking about the events of the past, that everything happen there where we were was very overwhelming. The Externsteine is a distinctive sandstone rock formation with stairs for climbing to the top and get a view located in the Teutoburg Forest, one of the favourite place for children and adults.
It is thought that the Externsteine have a special strength. Beside these witches, Druids and religious communities also gather for special celebrations both in the past and nowadays.

Thank you very much. I agree it is very tricky to use watercolor, but once you found a golden middle it is really enjoyable :)
