Friday Challenge - The Biggest Event of the Year- Highlands Game
Hello my dear Steemians and Art Fans,
Today I would like to submit my post with new painting to the challenge organized by @steemitblog that is dedicated to the biggest event of the year and one of such event that is national and throughout the country if Highland’s game.
This year we did not have Highland’s game due to Covid and last year it was did not take a place because of the strong rain.
The last one that we have had in our little town was 2 years ago.
Talking about Highland’s games, the oldest Highlands game is held in June in Ceres in Fife, they began under a Charter of Robert the Bruce in the recognition of the villager support at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314.
In Fife we have Highland’s game on our beach, when it is low tide.
The opening of ceremony usually starts with parade with Piper band, of course dressed in traditional Kilts, that is my favourite part, the colorful Kilts and the sounds of pipes and drumps, the combination of those two are so beautiful and distinct.
If in the past it was riding horses, this time we had riding racing cycles, the guys had it not easy on wet sand but they and of course we, people who watched have had a lot of fun.
Throwing heavy metal ball about 2,5 kg up to 6 kg as far as possible, later should be thrown above the plank which also slowly going up in height reaching 6 meters.
The highlight for me and possibly for everyone was Caber Toss, that is a trunk of a tall tree about 6 m and about 50-80 kg. The thrower takes the wide end upright with the hands put together, takes a short run with the caber and then stops and pulls the caber so that the large end hits the ground and the small end flips over and faces away from the thrower.
Everyone know that Scotland’s traditional costume is Kilt the skirt of it has different pattern and every Clan has its own pattern.
Actually it is a truth that nowadays many people who live currently at there places originally from ancestors point of view may come from complete different places.

О! Я даже не слышала о такой игре. Довольно интересно ты её описала. И картина очень понравилась. Особенно как прорисовано тело, мускулы, прямо можно изучать анатомию. Ты училась в художественном училище?
Всегда поражаюсь как художники всё цвета гармонично сочетают, чтобы получалось эффектное изображение.
У меня совсем не получается рисовать акварелью, она постоянно стекает по листу и остаются лишь яркие или грязные пятна...
Oh! I've never even heard of such a game. That's quite an interesting description of her. And I liked the picture very much. Especially how the body is drawn, the muscles, you can directly study the anatomy. Did you go to art school?
I am always amazed how artists combine all the colors in a harmonious way to get such an image.
I can't draw watercolors at all, it constantly flows down the sheet and only bright or dirty spots remain...
Да интересное представление а особенно если погода теплая то просто замечательно быть на улице. А рисование это самоучка, конечно в начальной школе был урок искусства но посление два года все с Интернета. Акварель дествительно не легкий для рисования, но если купишь хорошую бумагу и краски то результат тоже будет совсем другой:)

I like this sport, it is almost the same how it was many decades ago and those native people they are really proud that this tradition still alive :)

I loved Scotland since I watched Highlander, a movie that feels really special to me hahaha.
The painting looks really good, I think it would be great if you didn't detail so much the muscles, particularly on the legs. The background and the clothes are amazing.
Yes, it is very famous movie Highlander and nice that it shows tradition of this nation. I love the muscles and specially made it more prominent, it is at the end the competition for the strongest and best athlete :)

Спортсмен отлично получился. Мыщцы...так хорошо проработаны.
А еще я обратила внимание на пенальчик для кюветок Белые ночи))) И сразу захотелось написать -о, Белые ночи! Недавно сама таким пользовалась, но решила купить побольше)))
“Белые ночи” просто замечательчое качество, жалко что быстро закончиваются :)
