This time, we traveled to a different location, the famous Ambewela New Zealand Farm, which is located in the Ambewela hill station. It was comprised of two farms, Ambewela Farm and New Zealand Farm, but only New Zealand Farm is open to outsiders. The Ambewela area is located about 15 kilometers from Nuwara Eliya. I can introduce you to this location as one of Sri Lanka's two largest dairy farms, which has become a popular tourist attraction for both children and adults. The entire farm covers an area of 1500 acres.

The entrance fee for this location is Rs. 250/-. This includes only the farm tour; however, additional fees need to be paid for hiring a guide, purchasing organic products, and eating at the cafeteria.

We drove there from Nuwaraeliya to Ambewela on the A5 highway, which took us less than 30 minutes. If you prefer to take public transportation, there are frequent buses from Nuwaraeliya to Ambewela; otherwise, take any bus heading towards Welimada and ask the driver to drop you off at Ambewela Farm. You can also take a taxi or tuk-tuk from Nuwaraeliya to Ambewela, which is more convenient and comfortable but may be more expensive than public transportation.

We could visit there, a cheese factory, a goat yard, pigs, and thousands of cows, as well as a variety of vegetables. We saw cattle and sheep in groups on the lawn, as well as horses grazing and strolling leisurely. We were able to purchase fresh milk, yogurt, and cheese, as well as other dairy products, at very reasonable prices.

It is well-known not only for its excellent agriculture and livestock but also for its breathtaking scenic beauty. We could see amazing views of lush green hills, valleys, and meadows because this farm is located in the beautiful hill country of Sri Lanka. It is surrounded by marvelous mountains that provide a breathtaking backdrop. We could stroll through the farm's grasslands and hills, breathing in the fresh mountain air and admiring the scenery. The cows were free to roam the green pastures of the farm, and the sky was almost always clear. Another draw for our attraction was the wind turbines dotting the scenery in the distance.

We noticed that to maintain the quality of milk, the farm management takes great care to provide them with a balanced diet and sterilized drinking water. In addition, they explained to us that cattle are given excellent health care by resident veterinary surgeons.

It provided us with a unique opportunity to learn about how the farm works and the various crops and animals that live there.

We spent a lot of time there learning about farm activities, animal hygiene, and feeding methods, and watching the cheese factory in action. When we emerged from the farm, armed with knowledge about everything, there was a mobile bus full of food and drink for visitors to purchase, which helped us relax. We ended our joyful journey there and returned to our home.
