Let It Catch Your Bad Dreams.
Hello everyone 🤗 I’m back here with another post.
It’s something that is having a trend currently, but has a origin to centuries back.
Honestly I’m in love with this cute, little thing. It is called as Dream catcher. 😍
Origin of this amazing thing can be traced back to the Ojibwa people. Source
Ancient people believed that the night air is filled with dreams: both good and bad. They had a faith that this dream catcher can catch those bad dreams and give a peaceful sleep. So, they hung this thing near the sleeping person.
“Legends held that the spider web design of the dream catcher would allow good dreams to pass through and float down the hanging beads and feathers to sleeping children. Bad dreams, however, would be caught in the web. As the first rays of the morning light hit the dream catcher, the bad dreams would disappear." Source
Ancient dream catchers were made out of feathers, sinew and twigs. After centuries, modern dream catchers are made as a fancy item and we use feathers, colorful beads and several kind of strings together with a ring.
Today’s dream catcher has different shapes and sizes. Many people make them by themselves. Me too 😍. I’ve made number of dream catchers with my hands. Sometimes I use seashells for this. They have a unique, relaxing sound when they swing and hit each other with the blowing wind.
Those who haven’t try this yet, I invite you all to try this once. It’s really beautiful thing to see a dream catcher hanging near your bed and swinging with the slow wind. 💞
Hope you enjoy this and thanks for your time 🙌
