When a seed is kept in the store, the full potential of the seed will not be realized. The full potential of the seed will only come to reality when certain conditions are fulfilled, and the conditions include planting and nurturing the seed to grow into plant. That is when the plant will bring forth fruits and the full potential of the seed would have been realized. In the same way, an idea is only profitable when actions are put into it.
No matter the type of idea you have and no matter how potent it may look, it is almost impossible for it to fulfill itself. To be fulfilled, the first and major requirement is to put the right action into it and this should be done at the right time to make it productive. Actions that are done at the wrong time, even though they may be right actions, may end up being counterproductive.
An idea will remain an idea (which is just theories) until practical is added into it through actions. In the area of knowledge for example, having knowledge of something is quite different from putting the knowledge to work. As a matter of fact, the knowledge you have that you do not use will not profit you, and you are not different from the person that does not have any of such knowledge at all.
An idea may be general, but it is the execution that makes it uniquely different. The moment you start to nurture an idea, you may be surprised that many others have nurtured the same ideas and many are still nurturing it. What will distinguish your own is how fast you are able to execute your idea and the way you choose to execute it. While executing an idea, do not be stuck at a particular format for too long. Always be flexible in your execution and have multiple backup plans.
I remember a story I heard about two brothers that started pizza business in a particular area within the place I grew up. At first, they created the idea of the pizza business and they set up a shop where they made and sold the pizza. However, they noticed that the patronage was very small and they needed to boost their sales to be able to renew the rent of their shop.
What they did was to try another plan: instead of waiting for customers to come to the shop to buy the pizza, they will take the pizza to their homes in their motorbikes and they discovered that their sales increase. From there, they even had to hire people to help them with the deliveries to be able to meet up with the orders. That was how they expanded and today, they are one of the largest pizza delivery companies in the state.
Ideas are not meant to be kept as just theories but to be worked upon in order to profit from them. It is also worthy to note that ideas do not stay potent eternally, they are always bound by time. So you have to act fast after conceiving your idea. This is because, as the world changes and newer trends emerge, new requirements will be needed and your old idea may not fit into it. So act on your ideas quickly to avoid obsoletion.
