Square in Hradcany (Prague)
In front of the entrance to Prague Castle, the Hradcanska Square is located.

The Mariana Column (1726) is visible on the left. The top of the monument is crowned with the figure of the Virgin Mary, and at the pedestal there are statues of the patron saints of the Czech Republic. This is the gratitude of the residents for ridding the city of the plague.

The entrance is guarded by a guard of honor. The guards change every hour, and at noon this ceremony is very solemn, music sounds.

Sternberg Palace was built in 1770 by the Italian architect Martinelli and decorated with sculptures by Alliprandi. Today it houses the Czech National Gallery.
